Dream Home Tour

The Dream Home – Full TourCreating a Dream Home is no small task, but it is the combination of many small decisions. A space that has a stunning overall effect is the result of countless architectural, installation, and design choices, right down to the colour of grout between tiles or the type of lightbulbs used. Our expert consultants and installers at Great Floors played a significant role in making this space unique, beautiful, and dreamy. Let’s explore the flooring and tile choices that helped this house become a Dream Home…Nottinghill English Plank by Beckham Brothers is the hardwood installed throughout the Dream Home. This warm grey oak hardwood floor brings an unexpected visual warmth to the white-focused design throughout the master bedroom. Nottinghill spreads throughout the entire main floor, all bedrooms, and the basement bar space. The subtlety and charm of this elegant design is so classic and unassuming, it is the perfect anchor to any space. What’s more, the sturdy, water-resistant, and durable larch core make this product well suited to demanding spaces like the kitchen, and high-traffic areas like an entryway. Learn more about Nottinghill, English Plank, and Beckham Brothers’ Flooring here. In the sneak peek post, we briefly covered the Ceragres MARBLE Carrara tiles used throughout the master bathroom. The tile is used in 3 different sizes and installations in the bathroom: 6″x2″ Chevron on the floor, 5″ Hex tile on the shower walls, and a petite 0.75″x 1.5″ herringbone on the shower floor. This tile has a subtle

We hosted a day of golf, contests, laughs, and the occasional Caesar at the lovely Firerock Golf Course in Komoka. Our 70 competitors, and their guests, traveled from all over South Western Ontario to take part in our celebration. Although the main focus was fun and festivities, we engaged our guests’ competitive side with a putting competition throughout the day.During the dinner portion of the evening, Dave Scherba, the eldest son of founders Tony and Evelyn Scherba, gave a speech to thank customers and staff for their loyalty that has allowed us to be in business for 50 years. He told the story of Great Floors: In 1967, Tony and Evelyn started the business in their home as a carpet cleaning company. It has grown since then, now with three locations and spanning three generations. Dave’s brothers, Arlen and Mark, were also in attendance to celebrate the milestone.Jeremy and Amanda, Dave’s children, also work running the company. They presented Dave with a beautiful engraved watch to celebrate his semi-retirement and to thank him for all his help over the years, and for teaching them everything they need

A “Dream Home” has to be many things: beautiful, functional, spacious, and most importantly, cutting-edge in both technology and aesthetics. This year’s Dream Home by Bridlewood has set the bar and exceeded every Dream Home expectation. Timeless textures, airy colour palettes and custom finishes permeate the space. With the purchase of a ticket supporting London’s Hospitals, you have a chance at owning this exceptional home. CeraGres Products Featured at the LifeStyle Home Show

Our Award-Winning booth at the LifeStyle Home Show featured two of Great Floors’ hottest brands; BeckhamBrothers and CeraGres. Stay tuned for our Beckham Brothers post, but for now let us introduce you to the gorgeous CeraGres products that were used throughout our display.Clockwise from top left: Melody 8”x8” in Grey, White Home 12”x36” in Clapboard White, Bistrot 19”x19” in Grigio, Mate 3”x24” in Terra GrigioWith the front of our booth we wanted to focus on texture. We used some of our favourite designs in shades of grey to emphasize the subtle variations in colour and texture on these tiles. A simple installation can be enhanced by using a textured tile for visual interest. As you can see in the picture above, we have several traditional installations including a subtly staggered vertical installation (bottom left – Mate 3”x24” in Terra Grigio) and an alternating quarter-turn installation (bottom right – Bistrot 19”x19” in Grigio). We also included a patterned tile, Melody 8”x8”: Its petite geometric pattern is subtle enough to add character without distracting from other design elements. For the inside wall of our booth we went with natural stone look tiles. Stone designs, whether they are made with synthetic or natural materials, are a classic choice and will never go out of style. To complement these natural stone looks, we chose a smooth and nearly uniform style “Stones” in the colour “Quarz”, and a tile that mimics weathered wood, Charleston in White.Clockwise from top left: Charleston 3”x36” in White, 99 Volte 12”x24”
